Hello Friends + Allies
What other Aucklanders are saying about Hello Friends + Allies.
Customer : Enthusiastic waiters bring sunshine to the restaurant. The food presentation is very thoughtful, and the color matching makes people happy. Pull in a list that is worth visiting frequently.
Customer : We have been here for the first time today, and the food is outstanding, from a chef prospective i have to say well done chefs! I had the big breakfast and it was delicious, simply tasty! I could tell the food was well cooked and fresh and well presented! Coffee also very nice! Highly recommended.
Customer : The ambience and interior were nice. The hot cake was too sweeeeet. Should put prices on the cabinet food.
Customer : Food is quite pricey.
It would be good if they were more transparent with their pricing for the cabinet food – there’s no pricing on display.
Update: found something suspicious in the rocky road slice that looked like a rats tooth …@-@ they were very apologetic.
Customer : The service was enjoyable, the coffees are great. It feels like in the big breakfast the potatoes were from a previous night roast and didn’t seem very refreshing(its something people do when they have leftover carb and serve it for next days breakfast with eggs), perhaps would be better if we’re swapped with a pair of hashbrowns, most people want to have the freshest breakfast when they start their day so in a place like this you have the chance to Inspire them with the fresh feel when you serve the breaky.
Customer : Great service, food was beautifully served, but can’t say taste wise was amazing. Was either too salty or too sweet. Portions were also a bit small. Both my partner and I left feeling hungry, which doesn’t happen in different cafes when we order same dishes. I’d say this place deserves 3.5 ⭐ star from me.
Customer : Beautiful decorations, decent coffee and very nice food.
The first thing I noticed was that the cafe was buzzing with activity. With 90% of the tables being larger than most establishments, Hello Friends + Allies is perfect for groups. It’s not overly styled but is balanced between floral accents and industrial lines.
Menu items:
Potato Rosti Eggs Benedict $18.50
– Add Bacon $5
– Add Salmon $5.50
Such a good choice. The rosti was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – definitely in my personal top 5. Extra points for being able to see what it looked like first (just scan the QR code on the bottom of the menu).
I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee, and not just because I was desperate for caffeine. I genuinely liked the flavours and it was smooth, as a latte should be.
Best parking is located on Dunkerron Avenue. There are two toilets for customers located near the back. There’s also a lovely area with extra seating away from the hustle and bustle.
Server shoutout: Shannon. She was so kid and made us feel welcome the entire time.
Would I recommend it? Yes!

Customer : Delicious brunch had here with my kids. The atmosphere is really funky, super fun and artsy decor. The food and drinks were all great. Beautifully presented, wonderful flavours, and impressed all of us. My youngest is quite fussy but she loved her breakfast. Mine was soo good!
