Café BBQ Duck
What other Aucklanders are saying about Café BBQ Duck.
Customer : Authentic Cantonese cuisine, big portion, good price, definitely a hidden gem at the city center.
Customer : Got the roast pork and Peking duck. It was a lot of food for 2 people and we took some home. The roast pork was slightly tough
Customer : What we ordered:
– Roast duck on rice $21
I loved this restaurant so much! The portions were extremely generous so I definitely felt like I was getting my money’s worth. The duck was also so crispy, fatty and juicy, and the broccoli and bok choy were cooked to perfection! It’s such a tasty and affordable place to go if you’re in the cbd.
Customer : Yummy roast duck, roast pork and crispy pork. Big portion. Good value for money.
Waitress probably needs a little bit more of customer service
Customer : Really nice place and good food! The place is not cramped, has nice decorations and is pretty clean. Ordered the roast duck on rice, ‘curry puffs’, duck feet, and pork of noodles. Price matches big food servings and it taste good but after awhile it starts to get salty…. 2 people could easily half a dish if they’re not super hungry. Some items on menu such as curry puffs turned out to just be samosas that you can buy in bulk which was pretty disappointing. Would come back to try their other dishes
Customer : Wongcock Cafe used to be my go to for Chinese, but the chef/owners changed, so a friend recommended me Cafe BBQ Duck. The portions are hug, full of meat, and flavours are great. The Sweet and Sour Pork is a little less sweet than normal, but I like that. Young Zhou Fried Rice is also stand out. The BBQ Pork on Rice looks great too.
Customer : Had their roasted duck on rice with cold garlic cucumber and OHMYGOD! The taste was so nostalgic and just as good as the duck I had frequently throughout my childhood. Friendly staff and great portions! Loved the casual atmosphere and of course, the great food!
Customer : My first time ordering as my usual restaurant closed down recently due to Covid. Was not very impressed with the quality. Egg fried rice Full of egg shells and over saturated in a dark sauce which tasted like a mix of soy and bbq duck glazing?? Was not any actual egg in the rice must’ve just given me the shells. Eating egg shells is not a pleasant experience so very disappointed was a Waste of money. (Portion was quite big, paid around $14) no response from them at all 🙁
