Fat Kitty Cafe

What other Aucklanders are saying about Fat Kitty Cafe.

Customer : Gotta love their buns! But in all seriousness… I went for unique vegan and vegetarian options for a romantic little brunch with my partner and it did not disappoint.

Ordered a snickers bun and HELLO it was so delicious! The right amount of sweet and pastry.

Pad Thai omelette was very unique and a welcome treat. We also got the poached eggs and it was light and flavorful.

Lavender latte for me and mocha for my partner were OK, the highlights definitely the food here

Staff working that day was friendly even though she was by herself at the counter and kicking a$$ alone. Well done!

Would happily return.

Customer : Highly recommend this creative and inclusive cafe. They are one of the few vegan offerings on Dominion Road and they make vegan food interesting and actually tasty! Vegan pies are great. They aren’t exclusively vegan however and have some delicious meat offerings such as the chicken waffles. Loved their Turkish eggs so much I started recreating them at home! There is also some fantastic artwork by queer artists that decorate the walls and are available for sale.

Customer : 10/10 LOVE! The food is amazing and the variety is exciting! This is a hip little cafe with friendly staff!

Customer : this is my favourite cafe ever! we live an hour away but still make an effort to try come every week. the food is absolutely top notch and there’s so many options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. the dishes are unique and i trust Amelia with every flavour combination she comes up with. you have to try it!! This is today’s tuesday late night special which is a gnocchi and the best gnocchi dish i’ve ever eaten!

Customer : I had been wanting to try fat kitty cafe for a really long time but living in Australia was holding me back. When I came over to visit, one of the first things on my list was this cafe. And boy I was I not disappointed.
The vibe of the whole place was so welcoming, the art wall was fantastic to see and the owners were friendly. The food though… oh my goodness I have never tasted anything like this in my life. It was so so delicious. The has brown was the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. The waffles were the perfect mix of sweetness and flavour. I didn’t take photos of anything else because I was enjoying the food so much. If you do anything, go eat at fat kitty cafe. It was 100% worth the wait.

Customer : After reading lots of great reviews we finally went and we weren’t disappointed.
Loved the food, the staff & the venue.
Hubby had the low carb Pad Thai & I had the vegan hashbrown. The hashbrown was super crispy, decent portion, topped with vegan cheese & was well seasoned.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the spicy chai latte. We will definitely return.

Customer : Often nervous with new flavours but this team seriously know how to make everything work, I’m still mind blown by the food. I adore that they’ve got plenty of vegan (and gluten free!) options, including vegan ‘meats’ too!! I cannot get over the broc with lemon cashew labneh and the fried cauli on waffle (or roti!). My mouth waters just thinking about them. Plus the available art is always so cool! I can’t recommend this place enough, please PLEASE do your tastebuds a favour and get yourself there.

Customer : Honestly had really high hopes based on the reviews, but they just sadly were not met. half the menu was unavailable and the 2 dishes we did order just didn’t hit the mark. Presentation wise they were stunning but with the waffles they seemed to over do it with the “Hot” sauce and the waffles them selves seemed a tad over done and the pad Thai omelette thing just seemed bland. The coffee and the service were the saving grace. Might go back when they have there full menu available.
