Kita Cafe
What other Aucklanders are saying about Kita Cafe.
Customer : What good pies! Typical price point for a fancy pie, but I gotta say it didn’t disappoint. Had the creamy chicken in this one. I probably didn’t need the sausage roll as the pie was quite filling on its own. Should you ever have to choose between the pie and the saussie roll, hands down, pick the pie.
Customer : Kita cafe has plenty of comfortable seating both inside and outside. Sitting outside can be very pleasant on a sunny day. The tables and chairs are in a better condition than those at some nearby cafes. The cafe generally opens from Monday to Saturday, although there have been times when I have found it closed. The owner greets each customer, and service is prompt. The coffee is good. The citrus cake is delicious, and the carrot cake is full of healthy ingredients, such as nuts, grains and fruits, with a tasty icing. Cabinet food is wrapped, so always tastes fresh and moist. Pictures and plants provide a pleasant ambience, although strips of cardboard look rather unsightly. The music is not too loud, and a newspaper is provided. Water is provided on request.
Customer : The Curry Laksa is great apart from the green vegetables in there which is very untraditional. The Mee Goreng I requested it to be spicy and they delivered. However, it is missing a little something I can’t put on finger on. Perhaps some umami flavor is missing. Iced coffee is great as it is similar to the iced kopi of home.
Customer : Delightful. Tasty. Yummy! Rebecca, the hostess/cafe owner is just the friendliest – amazing service ! Laksa was mouth-watering, nasi lemak had the right ‘spice’ and eggs benedicts were yum! Made our day.
Customer : Great wee spot, I have been coming since they opened. Rebecca is a sweetheart and makes super coffee.. she’s super kind and friendly. You can park right at the door and dogs are welcome.
Mix of traditional brunch options lunch, great pies quality ingredients.. they used to do the food at The Fridge in Kingsland.
Laksa superb
Nasi Goreng… on point
Satay and roti great… I have tried most of their Malaysian stuff.. and i am back regularly. I bought home a great carrot cake today. They do very nice salads and counter food… and a slap up english breakfast and eggs Benedict.
You can see they have super reviews… and are highly regarded by Auckland foodies in the know.
Customer : The best of both worlds. Yummy Malaysian favourites plus scrumptious Kiwi all day breakfast menu items. Opted for roti canai, nasi lemak, mee goreng (no photo) and egg bene with bacon. Best kept secret in Morningside. Plus the friendliest and most accommodating host, Rebecca.
Customer : Eggs Benedict is the best Ive had in a while and the beef rendang is amazing. The owner Rebecca is amazing and hospitable. Will be coming back for more!! Top notch cafe!
Customer : I wrote about the good pies but must update my comment!
Best chicken curry and best roti of my life – so good I feel the need to tell my friends and family about it. Thank you very much – I love Selera but this is better! 11/10. It seems the business owners are also the ones making and serving the food – and they are very talented but also lovely and friendly. They even tin foil wrapped the curry so it didn’t leak and I can recycle the bag. Really could not have asked for anything better and I’m lucky I just moved down the street! Thank you very much!
