We recently tried out the Peace Lily Mattress, and we’re pleased to say it provides the comfort we were seeking. This mattress adheres to some of the most rigorous natural and non-toxic standards, which was a big plus for us.
We opted for the firm version, and it turned out to be a great choice – we woke up the next morning without any back pain or the sinking feeling we’ve experienced with other mattresses.
What we love most? If we decide to change things up, all we need to do is flip the mattress over to the gentle-medium side. It’s as simple as that!
We also upgraded our mattress with a plush topper made of 100% natural Dunlop latex rubber foam, adding an extra 5 cm of luxury. It felt like sleeping on a cloud made of marshmallows – total bliss.
The Peace Lily Mattress does come with a higher price tag, but we view it as an investment in our health and well-being. The available finance options make it more manageable and easier on the budget.
Our only minor criticism is that while the Peace Lily Mattress is non-toxic, it’s not allergen-free. If you suffer from severe allergies, this might not be the ideal mattress for you.

No complaints, so comfortable
We’ve been sleeping on our new Peacelily NZ mattress for the 100 day trial, and loving it! We like a medium mattress, and on the medium side it’s perfect (you can flip for firm). We have it on a slat frame which gives a little more spring. We have no complaints at all –pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it is! – Keri Howlett
Bought our mattress in Nov 2021. Love it, couldn’t recommend it enough! It is incredibly comfortable and we no longer wake up with sore backs! – Jennifer

Customer Reviews
Very comfortable, well-equipped
The TEMPUR-Cloud is well-equipped for sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds due to its medium feel and close conforming. Our testers in this weight group mostly agreed. Side sleepers noted generous padding for their shoulders and hips, which in turn helped to align their spine and reduce pressure points throughout the body. Back sleepers in the lightweight group also found the mattress very comfortable. The memory foam contours closely enough to alleviate pressure but the mattress does not sink excessively beneath the torso or waist. – Tuck

When it comes to finding the perfect blend of comfort and support, the Serta IComfort mattresses hit the mark. Equipped with TempActiv Max Gel Memory Foam and TempActiv Touch Fabric Technology, this mattress ensures you stay cool and comfortable all night long—think the softness of a feather bed without the heat.
Our favourite pick from the Serta IComfort range is the Blue Max 1000 Plush model. It features a 4-layer cushion system that offers a range of firmness levels, making it easy to find the right feel for your sleeping style.
One thing that stands out about Serta is their commitment to enhancing your sleep experience. You can pair the mattress with one of their foundations for effortless installation or opt for an adjustable frame for superior ergonomic comfort.
While it’s worth noting that Serta currently only offers one foundation and one adjustable frame option, this is a minor drawback compared to the exceptional comfort provided by the mattress itself.
Best of all, Serta ensures that upgrading your sleep doesn’t mean breaking the bank. With financing options of up to 60 months available, you can make this luxurious sleep experience more accessible than ever.

Best bed ever, easy to set up
I love how easy it was to set up, 15 minutes top. I have a California King (oak waterbed frame with drawers underneath). I got the low profile box with the mattress…This bed fits like a glove. I do not sleep with a pillow and sleeping flat on this bed I think I have gotten a better deeper sounder sleep…Test out the Blue Max 1000 Plush Set and see for yourself. Best bed ever! Happy sleeping! 🙂 – unknown

We’re excited to share that, after some careful consideration, we believe the Oakano Revive Elite Mattress is a standout option in the realm of memory foam mattresses.
What makes this mattress special is its patented Air Feel gel memory foam, which not only helps to relieve pressure points but also keeps you cool by regulating temperature. This feature makes it an excellent choice for warm summer nights.
Its design incorporates tiny pores to help dissipate heat effectively, setting it apart from many other mattresses. With its three-layer construction, which includes gel memory foam and high-density polyurethane foam, we were impressed by the support and firmness it offers.
Initially, we were a bit hesitant due to the mattress being manufactured outside New Zealand. However, learning that it’s CertiPUR-US and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified eased our concerns, as these certifications ensure it meets rigorous international health and safety standards.
We were also pleased to find that the Revive Elite Mattress is available in five different sizes and offers financing options that make it easier to enjoy top-tier comfort without a large upfront cost.
After using the mattress ourselves and checking out customer feedback, we can confidently say that the Oakano Revive Elite Mattress is a solid investment. The shopping experience itself was seamless and deserves a mention for its convenience and customer service.

At first glance, the Spine Supporter Techno 10 X mattress may seem like just another bed, but we’re happy to report that it’s far from ordinary.
As one of the most premium mattresses available in NZ, it boasts features that stand out from standard options and align perfectly with our preferences.
A highlight is the Ortho-cool Gel Memory Foam, which provides excellent support for the back and limbs while also regulating body temperature. We were especially impressed with the Healthguard silk fabric, which is a bonus for those who are mindful of skin health.
What really won us over, though, is the mattress’s versatility with its seven different firmness levels, allowing you to find the perfect balance of comfort and support for a restful night. The seven-zoned pocket coils adapt to the shape of your body, enhancing the overall sleep experience.
The attention to detail is evident in the addition of the natural latex pillow top, elevating comfort even further. Additionally, the Slumberzone Durafoam offers plush support for the neck, hips, and limbs, matching the back support and showcasing the high level of craftsmanship that sets the Techno 10 X apart from other mattresses we’ve tested.
That said, the Spine Supporter Techno 10 X does come with a higher price tag, and ordering directly from the manufacturer can be challenging. However, given the array of advanced features it offers, we believe it’s a worthwhile investment for those seeking unparalleled comfort and support.

The Unik X from Innature exceeded our expectations when it came to providing relief for back pain. We appreciated that this mattress is crafted from natural, sustainable materials and that the company’s commitment to quality is evident in its construction.
What makes the Unik X particularly impressive is its multi-layer design, which allows users to adjust the firmness level to their liking—whether they prefer a soft, medium, or firm feel. This customization is a standout feature, making it adaptable to different sleep preferences.
An added bonus is that the layers can be swapped out later if your comfort preferences change, making it a sustainable option since there’s no need to discard the mattress to achieve a new feel.
However, we did notice that this flexibility can make the mattress more sensitive to motion. If you’re someone who tosses and turns throughout the night, it might not be the most ideal option.
The quilted cover is another highlight, made from organic cotton, hemp fabric, and 500 gsm organic NZ carded wool. This combination makes the cover breathable, providing excellent air circulation for a cooler sleep.
On the downside, we found that the cover is not machine-washable, which can be inconvenient for those who prefer low-maintenance bedding options.
Despite these minor drawbacks—worth considering before making your purchase—the Unik X is a high-quality mattress that we think is definitely worth checking out.

Our search for the perfect mattress led us to Ecosa, and we’re glad we found it. The G-7 Memory Foam Mattress from this brand isn’t just comfortable—it’s also hypoallergenic, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin or allergies.
One of the standout features of this mattress is its gel-infused layer, which adapts to your movements, ensuring a restful, undisturbed sleep. We were particularly impressed by the ergonomic support foam and ECO-Tex memory foam, which work together to keep your spine properly aligned throughout the night.
The open-cell foam layer adds a nice, springy feel that enhances comfort, and the premium, washable Tencel cover is breathable, durable, and helps protect against bacteria and dust mites.
We also appreciated Ecosa’s variety of bed sizes, including king-sized options. For those in Auckland, their four-hour delivery promise is incredibly convenient. And with a 15-year warranty included, you can rest assured about the quality of your purchase.
However, we were disappointed to find that delivery outside of Auckland can take up to 8 business days. Additionally, Ecosa only accepts returns on the first order for multiple purchases in one household, so it’s important to choose carefully.
Lastly, Ecosa offers a 100-day trial, which is fairly standard in the mattress industry. We had a great experience with the G-7 Memory Foam Mattress and think it’s definitely worth considering their trial period.

We were initially sceptical when we saw the price tag on the Enchanteur Plush Memory Foam mattress, but after giving it a try, we were won over by its exceptional quality. As a premium orthopedic memory foam mattress, it certainly justifies its higher price point.
Crafted from high-quality latex foam and OrthoCool Gel Memory Foam, the Enchanteur Plush excels at heat dissipation while providing optimal support. Whether you’re soundly asleep or just resting, you can count on staying cool and comfortable throughout the night.
One of the standout features for us was the 5-Zone Posture Pro Pocket Springs, which effectively manage motion transfer. This means no more disruptions from your partner’s movements, leading to an uninterrupted and peaceful sleep.
While this mattress comes in a range of sizes, we were disappointed that it only offers a medium-soft firmness level. That said, we still found it comfortable and supportive, providing us with a restful night.
The only downside we noticed was the lack of an option to purchase directly from the manufacturer. It would have been more convenient to order straight from them rather than going through a third-party retailer.
Despite these minor drawbacks, we highly recommend the Enchanteur Plush for anyone looking for a luxurious, high-quality memory foam mattress.

We were thrilled to discover the Living & Co. Luxury Mattress Queen – an affordable luxury option that stands out in New Zealand. This mattress boasts an impressive combination of three-zone memory foam and latex, delivering robust comfort and support.
One of its key features is the extra-thick layers of convoluted foam, which provide added snugness and enhance the overall sleep experience. The single, high-strength pocket springs adapt seamlessly to your body, ensuring you don’t feel any individual spring as you sleep.
While we wished there were more size options available, we were pleased with how easy it is to clean. A simple spot-clean with a cloth is all it takes to keep it looking fresh. As reviewers who handle a lot of cleaning tasks, we know how valuable this is.
For an affordable price point and a five-year warranty, the Living & Co. Luxury mattress doesn’t feel cheap at all, even compared to other high-end products we’ve tried in the past.
However, the single size option and relatively short warranty period are worth noting. Still, given its comfort and value, it’s definitely a solid consideration if the size suits your space.
In summary, if you’re after a way to sleep like royalty without spending a fortune, the Living & Co. Luxury queen mattress is a great choice for a comfortable and budget-friendly sleep upgrade.

Nicely designed, good quality
My partner and I bought this just the other day. Compared to other matresses, you can’t feel the spirngs on the side, nicely designed and reinforced. Nice firm matress with a soft-firm foam topper thing on top. Both of us sat in the mattress and it does not wobble if one moves, great for sleeping when someone turns around a lot. Easy to pump up and pack away
Pump it up as hard as it will go to maintain good overnight firmness. We bought this for family to sleep on over the Christmas break, and once we realised it needed more air, after the first nights use, the feedback was great. Easy to pump up, easy to deflate and pack away. A great purchase. – Carol
Comfy with its built in head rest
Bought this bed for when extra guests stay over, super easy to inflate and deflate. Comes with handy storage bed. There is a built in head rest which is quite comfy. Because it’s so easy to put up, I’ve been using it in the lounge as a place to lie in the sun during my work breaks. – Kate

After testing The Flatpack’s Active Mattress, we were genuinely impressed by its comfort and cozy feel. What truly stands out is its balanced support—neither too soft nor too firm, making it ideal for a restful night’s sleep.
The mattress is constructed with two layers of foam that offer excellent support for the back while maintaining a plush feel. Additionally, the 5-zoned pocket springs in the bottom layer distribute weight evenly, which is a big plus for those who tend to move around in their sleep.
We also appreciated the luxury knitted fabric cover, which provides a softer touch compared to standard cotton covers. It’s hypoallergenic, making it a great option for people with sensitive skin or allergies.
One of the biggest perks of the Active Mattress is its affordability without compromising on comfort or support, especially when compared to other high-end options in the market. The 100-day trial period is another bonus, giving you a chance to experience the mattress for yourself before making a final decision.
However, while we found the medium firmness appealing, it’s worth noting that this might not suit everyone. If you prefer a mattress that’s softer or firmer, it may be worth considering other options.

If you’re looking for a mattress that prioritises spine comfort, the Dunlop Living Orthozone Mattress is an excellent choice. After extensive testing, we can confidently say that it’s one of the most supportive mattresses available for spinal health.
What sets this mattress apart is Dunlop’s patented Magicoil system, which provides exceptional support and helps maintain proper spinal alignment. With three zones of support, it caters to different body areas for a well-rounded, comfortable sleep experience.
Another feature that impressed us is the upholstered slat base, which adds breathability and enhances the overall support for the mattress. This thoughtful addition ensures the mattress stays comfortable and well-ventilated throughout the night.
While it may take 15 to 20 days for delivery due to each mattress being made-to-order in New Zealand, we found the wait worth it for a custom-built product backed by a 5-year warranty.
One consideration is that the Orthozone mattress has a lower weight capacity than some of its competitors, so it may not be ideal for everyone. However, if your main focus is spinal health and comfort, we think this is a minor drawback.
Overall, the Dunlop Living Orthozone Mattress is a top-tier choice for those seeking a supportive, spine-friendly sleep solution. Despite some small drawbacks, it’s well worth considering for a restful and rejuvenating night’s sleep, especially for those with back pain.

The Sealy Bodyform Pillowtop was a pleasant surprise for us. It offered the perfect balance of firmness and comfort, gently cradling our bodies in its plush cushion without exerting too much pressure.
As an innerspring mattress, it uses high-quality Bonnell springs and compact foam to provide solid support for the back, helping to eliminate discomfort in the arms, hips, and shoulders, no matter the sleeping position.
However, one downside is its relatively thin profile, which might be a dealbreaker for some. That said, we found that the top layer of soft, plush pillowtop provided enough cushioning and support to compensate for the thinner design.
We also appreciated the minimalist aesthetic of the Sealy Bodyform Pillowtop, which makes it easy to fit into smaller rooms. Its compact size makes it a great option for anyone needing a single mattress in a tight space.
On the downside, the long waiting time for delivery was a bit frustrating. As the mattress is available only by special order, patience is required before enjoying its comfort.
Lastly, the 5-year warranty provided us with extra peace of mind, ensuring that we can rely on the mattress for years to come without worrying about premature wear and tear. All in all, the Sealy Bodyform Pillowtop is a solid choice for those seeking a comfortable, supportive mattress that’s well-suited to smaller spaces.

- Latex: A natural and durable option, often praised for its comfort and eco-friendliness.
- Hybrid: Combines innerspring support with memory foam or latex for balanced comfort.
2. What mattress firmness should I choose? The ideal firmness level depends on your sleeping position and preferences:
- Soft: Best for side sleepers as it cushions pressure points.
- Medium: Suitable for combination sleepers who switch positions during the night.
- Firm: Provides solid support for back and stomach sleepers.
3. How long does a mattress typically last? The lifespan of a mattress depends on its material and quality:
- Innerspring: 5-7 years
- Memory Foam: 7-10 years
- Latex: 10-15 years
- Hybrid: 7-10 years
Proper care can extend the lifespan of your mattress.
4. How do I choose the right mattress for back pain? Look for mattresses that offer good support for spinal alignment. - Trial Period: Many companies offer a trial period to test the mattress at home.
- Warranty: Ensure it has a good warranty, typically ranging from 5 to 10 years.
