旺角 Restaurant or WONGKOK CAFE
What other Aucklanders are saying about 旺角 Restaurant or WONGKOK CAFE.
Customer : Nice if you want some Chinese food. I will come again and try others
Customer : Its just amazing. Iv been here 10+ times. The food is next level. Perfect textures. Its a hidden gem. Have not had a bad meal. Its my go to in Auckland. If you dont go, you are missing out.
Customer : Pricey, generic flavor, and everything costs additional that you wouldn’t expect (5% credit card charge comparing to most 2.2% charge, $1 for hot sauce, take away containers, etc.).
Customer : This place is a gem, serving absolutely fantastic Asian cuisine to only those who know. Old Chinese art covers the walls, the lights are bright, there’s no music and the place has a distinct musky smell, probably from the old furniture. But you’re here for the food, probably at 1 in the morning, so as long as it’s tasty, everything else is a formality. You can’t come here once, as the menu is so extensive and the portions are quiet large but what you do want to do is venture out of your comfort zone, because the less familiar the dish, the more delicious it’s going to be. Take the plunge, don’t be a coward.
Customer : It’s just ok. Lack of any service. A little expensive but understandable given its location and financial struggles associated with the location. Food is passable. Good if you are craving some southern Chinese food while you are in town.
Customer : Worst chinese restaurant.
Uncooked old hard food.
Are they using stuff from before the lockdown?
Customer : Spring rolls amazing. Black bean beef stir fry and sweet and sour pork good dishes. Bigger servings when dining in compared to their takeaway menu. Parking is a bit challenging. Select parallel parking available outside the store otherwise you will have to use side streets.
Customer : Bought the following…
Salted Fish Fried Rice X 2
Chicken Rice Noodles (Fried Kway Teow) X 2
I requested for chilli oil and the staff (Asian woman) replied that it’s not available. Hence, I requested for fresh cut chilli and was informed that 1 piece of chilli is NZ$0.50. What?! I just spent around NZ$60 and still have to pay for chilli??
The food that I’ve order before and now is nice, some times a little tad oily but that’s fine. Food quality and staff attitude do make a difference for repeat customers. Apart from the food, there’s nothing to look forward to especially with the run down deco in addition to the staff service attitude.
